Vancouver Gas Price - Lowest In a Long Time

Last night, while I was on the B-Line back home, I couldn’t help but look out the window and notice the gas price: $0.95/Litre!

I remember… back in the beginning of the century (haha… only a mere 8 years ago), the average price of gasoline was around $0.60/L. Growing exponentially, it shot through the roof. As of June 2008, it had gone as high as $1.50/L.

Long story short: thank you, dubya, for bringing the price of oil so ridiculously high in the first place. At the same time, thank you, dubya, for messing up the economy so badly that the price of oil has now gone tumbling.

On a side — but related — note, I’m quite enjoying public transit. From my posts on fuel economy, you can probably tell that I have a bit of a hypermilier mentality. Did I mention that I’ve been getting infinite miles per gallon lately?! What’s my secret? I simply board the B-Line at the UBC loop, find a nice ‘n comfy seat, and let the bus driver do all the jack-rabbiting. Ohh I do love my U-Pass.
