US Congress Rejects $700-Billion Bail-Out!
Today is a historical day, ladies and gentlemen.
I guess America’s not getting another $700-billion in debt. I guess the bankers down on Wall St. are having a bit of a bad day. But hey, I guess the American people can breathe a sigh of relief for the moment being.
Too bad though… they’re either/most likely having a Democrat president in November that’s backed by a party that doesn’t really know its thing about the economy, or a war-monger neo-con. Sigh…
Bush and his goons almost pulled another fast one this time. The people did it (at least for now). The powers fail (for the moment being).
To me, this marks a turning point in the way things are going. Just like the moment when people started realizing that it’s “bad” to be invading others. I remember from 2003 till early 2005, all the media outlets were openly supportive of the invasion. However, in mid-2005, things began to turn around: the media (even CNN included) began to acknowledge that the invasion was a total disaster, and some even apologized for banging the war-drums spreading the propaganda.
To me, this marks another turning point. Fear tactics — though still effective — don’t work as well as they used to. The people are beginning to wake up and take a stand.
Check out the comments over at the Campaign for Liberty in response to the rejection of the bail-out — they’re incredible!
“THIS is real change!!!! =)”
“I’m in complete shock! They actually listened to the people! Those who voted in favor need to be voted out, now!”
“I am almost moved to tears.
There is nothing stopping this from coming back in a different form, and the Senate is yet to vote. Keep up the pressure…send out a round of thank you’s to those who voted nay, and MAIL BOMB those Tories that voted aye.”
BUT THIS IS NOT OVER.
We’ll keep our eyes on the Senate vote. Until then.

Hehe
How do the Democrats not know anything about the economy? Remember the Clinton years?
For your information… the Democrats voted 140 - 95 in support of the bail-out, while the majority of Republicans voted against it.
So putting another $700-billion onto the taxpayers (also further devaluing the dollar) seems like an illogical idea. A party that votes in favour of such a bill suggests to me that they don’t know a whole lot about the economy (at least the ones in office now).
As a responsible government, it always has to do something to rescue the market.
Please don’t forget that the taxpayers are also the major victims of the current financial disaster in the States if no actions could be taken by the government. Furthermore, the innocent investors, and the economies of all the other countries in the world are going to suffer badly by the mess made by the U.S.
It is a common sense that when the fire is coming from a house and rapidly expanding, it’s going to burn the whole village. Therefore, the home owner must do something instead of just watching ….
This even hit Sweden. My bank went down 25.4% over a day and everyone was quite shocked.
