UBC Sauder Frosh 2008!!!

September 6th, 2008

Notice how I used three exclamation marks?

I’m not going to go into deals what exactly happened at frosh. Why? I believe that the Sauder Frosh simply cannot be described in words. It’s simply indescribable.

What I am going to do, however, is to give you an idea what it had felt like being at Frosh. Fasten your seatbelt and hang on for the ride of your life!

First of all: noises — lots and lots and lots and lots of music, cheering, shouting, screaming, yapping…etc. The very moment that you walk into the Sauder Frosh crowd, you feel the energy. Not only do you feel the energy, but you also hear the energy, see the energy, taste the energy, smell the energy… you consume the energy.

You become the energy. You scream till your voice goes, till your mind blows, till your hands hurt from clapping, till your face hurts from laughing.

You meet friendly people and see friendly faces. You truly feel the energy in the atmosphere as people reach out their hands and say hello.

By the end of the day (usually between 2 - 4 AM), you’re utterly deprived of energy. You’re exhausted from having gotten up at 6 AM, from running (literally sprinting) around the campus all day, from the not-so-great food, from everything.

Yet, you must get up at 7 the next morning… 2.5 days and 2 nights… this is what you get from Frosh.

Well… there you have it. If I were to summarize what Frosh is all about, this is how I’d put it: it’s the loudiest and craziest experience you can imagine. I made lots of great friends over this awesome weekend and had the experience of a lifetime.
