Happenings in a Nutshell

"The memory of things gone is important to a jazz musician. Things like old folks singing in the moonlight in the back yard on a hot night or something said long ago." - Louis Armstrong

Lord Byng Band, Senior Wind Ensemble Write-up

De-deesh-kawnk Ju-nee-yo-hoo-sa… Out of all the courses that you take, can you imagine one where the whole class whispers a mythical Aboriginal chant together? Or one where students show up, no matter the freezing rain or scorching heat, at 7:20 in the morning? Or, best yet, a class where 58 students meet up at 4:00 in the morning, under the shelter of darkness, to go on a once-a-lifetime adventure to Italy? Ladies and gentlemen, I present you the 2006-2007 Lord Byng Senior Wind Ensemble. We have had a wonderful year under the direction of Mr. MacLennan. From the Gondola rides on the canals of Venice to the bright stages of performance, we have experienced plenty, and proved ourselves able to work as an ensemble. Now, let us remember these accomplishments and take them with us into the future!
