Here’s Alvin Ma‘s tasteful take on Imagine Day, from an Arts perspective. I agree: we need a better chant.

Imagine if you won.

I may have not won $4.1 million in the last Lotto 6/49 jackpot nor ridden a horse along a beach as seen in the ceaseless lottery commercials, but I somehow managed to obtain a spot in the most prestigious university in British Columbia.

The daylong Imagine UBC event was held today, replacing all of the scheduled undergraduate classes. Like my high school self, I found myself running early in the morning in an attempt to arrive to school early. Instead of running a couple of blocks to school, however, I ran a couple of blocks to the closest bus stop. Luckily I made it, though students crammed the bus from the front to the back. I expected half of them to get off at Langara College, but to my utter dismay, only one or two did. But that’s university commuter life. I’ll adapt sooner or later…
