CLASS: Conference for Learning and Academic Student Success
This is my first post since June. After a 3 month-long blogging hiatus, I would like to return to the blogosphere by introducing you to the Conference for Learning and Academic Student Success (CLASS). If you are new to university, CLASS will be crucial for your academic success and personal wellness during this exhilarating but hectic year. If you are a seasoned UBC veteran or alumni, CLASS will be an opportunity for you to be a mentor and share your own experiences. If you are a UBC staff or instructor, CLASS will bring you a joyous sigh of relief.
Here is a quick overview of CLASS:
Student-driven initiative supported by UBC Student Development. To help first-year students from all faculties achieve academic excellence and personal wellness. To encourage interactions between first-year students, their peers, senior students, and faculty/staff. To offer engaging workshops, inspiring speakers, and valuable networking opportunities. To empower first-year students with the knowledge and resources in realising academic goals and in pursuing a healthy and balanced university lifestyle. To foster an inclusive and collaborative learning community at the University of British Columbia.
To look at things from a visual perspective, here’s a CLASS Wordle:
Mark this date in your calendars: Oct. 24. Did I mention that this is a free conference with free food? CLASS is happening on Saturday, October 24th, 2009!
Recognise the “GO TO CLASS” buttons from Imagine? Check out the CLASS video. All I ask is that you pass it onto 5 friends:

Yaa! We love CLASS here at SD. All first years should definitely go and learn how to be the best student they can be.
